Siena Spotlight - March 2021

Employee spotlight for March is Melissa Chamblin our Dietary Manager and has been employed here for 2 years. She will be pursuing her DTR license in the fall, it is a 2-year program. She has been married for 23 years to her husband Michael. They have three children together, Seth 21, Jocelyn 17, and Raeanna 11. They live in Peebles, Oh. They love to travel as a family and attend professional rodeos. They have a dog named Ivy. Her daughter Jocelyn is also an employee at Siena as an activities aide.

Her favorite part about working at Siena is the time she gets to spend with the residents. She loves learning about their background, if they enjoyed cooking and what their specialty was. They sit together and talk about the foods they like. The residents create a special menu called Resident’s Choice twice a month at the food committee meetings. She enjoys making it extra special for them by placing fun cards on their trays to go along with the occasion.

As the Dietary manager she is involved in a lot of special events that happen at the facility for residents. They work closely with activities and the marketing team to come up with ways to get our community involved with the residents. Some of her favorites include, the Kona Ice truck, Mr. Softee ice cream truck, birthday parties and cookouts. “Making and impact in the lives of our residents is what makes my job awesome.”
